All services provided by The Vashti Initiative are free of charge. However, in order to best serve survivors, we will often refer individuals to outside resources that may provide more support. Journey Free is dedicated to helping people transition out of harmful religions, recover from trauma, and rebuild their lives. The team, under the leadership of Marlene Winell Ph.D., has developed programs for both individuals and groups. Winell is the author of Leaving the Fold: A Guide for Former Fundamentalists and Others Leaving Their Religion. She has been working in religious recovery for over 30 years.
The primary focus of Recovering from Religion is to provide practical and personal support to individuals as they cope with changing beliefs.
Support groups are offered and meet monthly all over the world. Each local meeting is free to attend. Some groups do accept free-will donations for their local needs, but no individual is never expected to pay and there is no obligation whatsoever to make a donation.
